Netcraft, a longstanding, regular employer of OEs during their gap year or university holidays, has recently been awarded a Double Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its work in cyber defence.  A Queen’s Award is the highest UK Government award for a British business and is awarded on the Queen’s Birthday each year.

Over the past decade, Netcraft, an internet services company based in Bath, has regularly recruited KES alumni to work on developing countermeasures against cybercrime.

'Working at Netcraft has given me the opportunity to work with a sector-leading company straight out of school,' said OE August Pemberton, 'The experience I've gained has been incredibly useful towards my Computer Science degree at the University of Southampton, and it's helped me pick up software development knowledge you don’t get from university.'

'Netcraft receiving a double Queen’s Award makes me incredibly proud' said Joe Hewett, now a Computer Science student at Warwick; 'Netcraft’s work environment fosters innovation and is conducive to the excellence that the Queen’s Awards highlight.'

‘Working at Netcraft over the past three years has been very rewarding, said Sasha Putt, a final year student at Durham. “It is fast-moving and dynamic.'

If OEs are interested in working with Netcraft during university holidays or a gap year, please get in touch with Mr Simonds, Head of Sixth Form.

'Although our clients are spread all around the world, we recruit locally' said Mike Prettejohn, Director at Netcraft. 'Year after year KES students & alumni have made substantial contributions to the services that have won the Queen’s Awards. It’s a relationship that we are keen to continue.'
