Like all charities during this challenging period, the Moving Mountains Trust has been hit hard by the global pandemic, and unfortunately our plans to take 32 pupils to Tanzania this summer have been postponed until 2021. Despite this, King Edward’s is keener than ever to show its support for the families and communities in Kenya and Tanzania with whom we have built relationships over the last decade. The money raised over the last 2 years was due to be donated upon our arrival in Tanzania, however we have since pledged to donate these funds immediately to support the charity through this difficult summer, rather than waiting until next year. We now plan to work towards new fundraising targets in advance of the 2021 trip and are delighted to announce that Moving Mountains will be our main school charity for the coming academic year.
The following video has been put together (with the help of Sam in Year 13 who was part of the 2018 Tanzania trip) to give a flavour of our work with Moving Mountains, both in terms of what we have accomplished to date and what we hope to achieve in the future.
