Many congratulations to Year 7 pupil, Catherine Mattingly, who was runner-up in the Junior category of the Bath Young Actor of the Year competition, organised by the Mid-Somerset Festival. Participants were invited to take part in the contest following their performances in the March Mid-Somerset Festival.
At the Festival Catherine received the Evelyn Sandford Repertoire Trophy for the highest combined mark over four classes: Verse speaking, Memorised Prose, Solo Mime and Solo acting. Catherine also took part in two winning Acting groups. More recently, Catherine played the older ‘Simba’ in the Junior School’s production of The Lion King, followed by her lively portrayal of Hattie in A Girl MissRed at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival in a production by Bath Acting and Theatre Studio (BATS).
