Our Model United Nations team (KES MUN) recently attended a new MUN event at Queen’s College, Taunton, joining 15 other schools from across the South West, who together represented over 35 countries.
KES MUN took 14 pupils to the event to represent three countries. Our most experienced Sixth Form delegates represented the USA, with further team members joining North Korea and India. Debate topics ranged from quantum computing to the universal availability of Insulin. The crisis debate was challenging to negotiate as it reflected current political tensions, but the pupils handled it very well and were guided by an expert Secretary General in the General Assembly.
Our USA delegation won Best Delegation (first place) for the whole conference, with KES pupils also coming away with a host of individual awards.
Many thanks to Dr Wainer and Mr Ford for accompanying the team.
