Do you know the name of the star and planetary system that is forty light years from Earth with seven orbiting planets, three of which may posses the ingredients necessary to support life? Could it be:

1. Sirus A
2. Alpha Centauri
3. Ursa Major
4. Trappist-1

Our amazing Junior School science teams know the answer and put their STEM knowledge to excellent use this week in the National Science Championships area heat.

After 30 scientific questions, the KES teams finished 1st, 4th, 6th and 17th out of 55 teams from across the country.

In doing so the first-placed team has booked themselves a spot in the National Final, held at Oxford University in June, whilst excitingly all three other teams are through to the semi-final in January.

Well done to everyone. Mr Carter is very proud of you all!
