A Love of Languages at the Junior School

At our Junior School, pupils learn French from Year 3 all the way through to Year 6 (with some additional German and Spanish added in the upper years).

When focussing on listening and speaking skills everyone enjoys acting out conversations or listening to French speakers in order to improve their comprehension skills. Across the curriculum topics range from colours and clothes to birthdays and the weather.

Our Year 6 pupils are very much looking forward to putting their language skills into practice during their French trip at the end of the year, where they will be able to order their own ice creams and drinks and even learn how to haggle in the local market!
