Earlier this month, 129 of our mathematicians from Years 11 – 13 took part in the Senior Maths Challenge alongside thousands of others from across the country, with two-thirds of KES entrants coming away with Gold, Silver or Bronze certificates.

Well done to the 50 pupils who gained a bronze certificate. 28 pupils went one better and gained a silver. The following 8 pupils achieved gold certificates, while Owen Williams, with a score of 99, also was awarded the trophy for the best score in the entire school.

  • Owen Williams
  • Jonas Mak
  • Olivia Sheng
  • Luc Hocknell
  • Hannah Blacker
  • Alex Lake
  • Edward Blackwall
  • Megan Power

A few weeks before the Challenge took place, Year 12 pupils Megan Power and Charlotte Lang also took part in the Maths Olympiad for Girls. With relatively little time to prepare, both girls did brilliantly to come away with certificates of distinction, which is the highest award possible in this competition. Again, many congratulations to both Megan and Charlotte.
