Congratulations to former KES pupil, Max Ojomoh, who today signed his first senior contract with Bath Rugby.
A Bath Rugby Pathway Player since the age of 13, Max joined KES in Nursery, and started playing rugby at school in the Junior School. In 2019, whilst studying for his A Levels, Max signed a long-term senior academy contract with Bath Rugby. He started pre-season training at the Academy just days after sitting his final summer exam.
Sean Lilley, Head of Rugby at King Edward’s, said: “Congratulations to Max on signing his first senior contract. As a school it makes us very proud to think he wore the school shirt and represented KES rugby for so many years. He is still very connected to King Edward’s and makes the time to come along and watch the 1st XV play whenever his own rugby and other commitments allow. All of us here are delighted for Max, as well as being really excited to see what else he is going to achieve in the years to come.”
Craig Lilley, Academy Manager at Bath Rugby and Max’s former head of rugby at KES said: “It’s a very proud day to see Max sign his first senior contract. Seeing him develop at school and then through the Academy has been a real pleasure. He is a student of the game and to see him balance his sporting aspirations as well as his academic ambitions makes him a fantastic role model for pupils at KES and for our young fans across the region. Max has always been very talented, but his work rate and enthusiasm to constantly improve himself sets him apart from others.”
