Earlier this week Year 7 took part in an extended PSHE workshop looking at menstrual health and wellbeing.
In conversation with Mr Perrie, the year group discussed where period stigma comes from and how to reduce embarrassment around talking openly about periods; they watched the Netflix acclaimed short film, Period: End of Sentence, they learnt all about hormones and the biology of menstruation with Ms Tse and got a demonstration (using fake blood!) with pads, tampons, mooncups, period pants etc from Miss Perris and Miss Dawes. Please ask your children what they learnt, and which product came out most highly for comfort, environmental benefit and cost! Hopefully you will be impressed with their knowledge.
