Year 13 Pupils Attract Offers From the Uk's Leading Universities

With the university application process almost complete for the current Year 13 cohort, King Edward’s School is delighted to note the excellent offers currently coming the way of its A Level pupils.  

10 pupils have received offers of places at Oxford or Cambridge to study a diverse range of degree subjects, including Classics, English, Law, Computer Science, Medicine and Natural Sciences. 

Other popular destinations for the class of 2019 include the universities of Exeter, Durham, Imperial College London, Loughborough, York and Leeds, as well as closer to home, Bath, Bristol and Cardiff.

The diversity of subjects chosen to be studied reflects the all-round strength of the academic departments here at KES, with pupils’ ambitions leading them to pursue degrees in Mathematics, Liberal Arts, International Relations with Spanish, Mechanical Engineering, Law, History of Art, Classics, Economics and Physics, among so many others.

Confirming the School’s academic standing, the recently published Sunday Times Parent Power survey featured KES as one of the top 5 performing independent schools in the South West for the sixth year in a row.

Headmaster, Martin Boden, commented:  “Alongside the academic strength of the current Year 13 cohort (who in the summer of 2017 recorded the School’s best ever GCSE results), our most senior pupils are also to be congratulated for all that they contribute across the School’s vibrant co-curricular programme, be it participating in team sports, acting at the Edinburgh Fringe, playing alongside Bath Philharmonia at one of the school’s many musical performances or taking part in Model United Nations debates, for example.  They really have been a credit to King Edward’s, and we wish them well for the remainder of their time with us.”
