Pupils and staff at the Senior School have voted to support Together for Short Lives as the new school charity this year.
Together for Short Lives is the UK’s leading charity for the 49,000 children living with life-limiting conditions, and their families and at Assembly today fundraisers for the charity came in to explain how KES donations will help, including:
Caring for a young person with a life-limiting condition touches almost everyone in society. It is estimated that 1 in 3 people know something caring for a seriously ill child.
Together for Short Lives believes that when a child’s life is expected to be short, there’s no time to waste, and much of the Charity’s energy goes towards ensuring that children and their families can make the most of every moment they have together, whether that’s for years, months or only hours. Many of these children have complex conditions and need specialist care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Do look out for fundraising events at school to help raise funds for this important charity. First up is the Halloween Bake-Off, just before half term on the 22 October.
During the course of the year KES will also support Bath Foodbank by organising four food donations throughout the year, similar to those already carried out on behalf of the local Salvation Army.
