It was wonderful to welcome pupils, parents, and colleagues to the end of year Art Exhibition. We had a fantastic turn out and it was great to be able to celebrate the creative achievements of pupils from Year 6 to A Level. The exhibition was opened with an inspiring and informative talk by local artist Anna Gillespie. She spoke about her creative journey and the steps she took to becoming a professional sculptor. Her beautiful and profound work explores the body and its complex relationship with the environment and nature, and she discussed how her interest in the human condition has also led her to explore political and environmental issues. Guests then had the opportunity to look around the exhibition and the Art department had a real buzz of energy throughout the night. We received some lovely comments about the quality of work and imaginative exploration of ideas and we are immensely proud of the hard work and effort that pupils have put into their projects. After the past few years, it was an absolute pleasure to welcome so many people to the department and display an exciting range of expressive and individual work.
