This term has seen the first-ever KES eSports Overwatch Team take part in weekly gaming ‘fixtures’ against other schools as part of the 2020-21 British eSports Championships.
The Year 11 team, playing as 'KES Bath Legion' got off to a flying start in their first game, pulling off a 3-2 win against a senior and more experienced team from Penwith College. Reporting back after their first session, Mr Sneddon said: ‘Despite the team going up against a much more experienced squad of 17/18 year olds, and the game going on for almost two hours, they managed to emerge with a 3-2 win. They were awesome for the whole match, and I really enjoyed watching them pull together for the win.
‘I was most impressed by their behaviour throughout the game, showing amazing sportsmanship in their win - giving compliments to the other team’s performance and showing a great level of professionalism in general.
‘The team have been looking to enter the tournament since last year, and they have really made the most of it so far – hopefully we can keep bringing home the wins for KES!’
