KES is flying the Movember flag this year in support of Former Head of Art Michael Pell and current OE Liaison who is currently battling through prostate cancer treatment. Pelly is keen to support Mr Tidball’s annual push to raise the profile of Movember’s principles for improving Men’s Health amongst the KES community.

This year a fundraising Team - Pelly’s KES MO-Es Team has been set up and any member of the current or former KES community is very welcome to join the team, send Pelly a supportive message, or make a donation. Or just check out the website Movember and raise awareness of men’s health issues for yourself, your partner, sons and brothers. Also maybe check in with that mate that may have dropped off the radar recently.

Movember details

Men’s health is in crisis. Men are dying on average 5 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons.

A growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides.

Movember is uniquely placed to address this crisis on a global scale. We fund groundbreaking projects all over the world, engaging men where they are to understand what works best and accelerate change.

By 2030, Movember aims to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% through the following:

  • Give men the facts
  • Change behaviour for the better
  • Create services that work for men
  • Unite the brightest minds
  • Listen to the community and advocate for men.
